Paul Amsellem | Global Managing Director
Paul received his M.A. (Finance) from Universite Paris IX Dauphine. He is a pioneer in the mobile marketing space, and leads Silverback's mobile marketing business. He founded Cellcast-Interactif in 2001 and built it into a top mobile marketing company servicing many leading European companies, including TF1, Canal+, Skyrock, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, France Television, and Caisses d'Epargne. Prior to Cellcast-Interactif, Paul was the founder and CEO of Phonevalley, France's first SMS company. He started his career at Wunderman, a subsidiary of Young and Rubicam, leading the company's CRM initiative worldwide. He is the founder of the French Mobile Marketing Association.
Jim Brown | Managing Director, Americas
Jim was formerly the Director, Mobile Portals and Messaging, for Rogers AT&T Wireless where he was responsible for the management of SMS and WAP data services, including strategy and business case development and positioning, as well as leading the implementation and execution of the strategy. He started his professional career with BCE Inc., where he last served in various management capacities at both Bell Canada and Bell Mobility. Most recently, Mr. Brown was co-founder and Director of Voice Courier Mobile Inc., one of Canada’s leading mobile application and aggregation companies, purchased by FMG Inc. Jim is also a co-founder of the Toronto chapter of Mobile Monday (www.momotoronto.com), a global, mobile industry-focused association with the goal of fostering the growth of the wireless industry through the sharing of ideas, best practices and trends. Jim has a MSc (Telecommunications) from Syracuse University, as well as completing numerous advanced academic and communication industry executive development programs.
Terry Ham | President & COO
Terry comes to Silverback Media with over 20 years of experience in the technology sector and an outstanding track record in the Internet, e-commerce and digital marketing spaces. He was the founder of C3 Online Marketing Inc., a provider of online solutions for marketers designed to attract and retain online relationships. Terry became the COO of True North Corporation after C3 was acquired by the company, where he was responsible for integrating numerous business units, creating a single sales force selling an integrated online marketing product line, and re-branding True North. Prior to founding C3, he was the Chief Business Development Officer at BCE Emergis Inc. where he crafted significant customer agreements and helped to define the company’s strategies for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and alliances. Terry held several other senior management positions with BCE Emergis, including President of BCE Emergis (U.S.). Before joining BCE Emergis, he was President and CEO of Newstar Technologies Inc. where he guided the transition of Newstar’s business model from traditional facilities management services to e-commerce software and transaction processing. His successful execution of this strategy led to partnerships with industry leaders, including Microsoft and Price Waterhouse, and eventually to the acquisition of Newstar by BCE Emergis.
Martin Doane | CEO
Martin is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School. He brings 17 years' experience as a lawyer and over a decade in the corporate finance, M&A, and venture capital spheres. Martin has developed a global network of capital markets and business contacts, and has served as the Managing Director of a merchant banking firm, as well as an officer and director of numerous public and private companies in the financial services and technology sectors. He was recently awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal for his exemplary contribution to Canadian life.
